Join us for a Mahjong & Mooncakes afternoon in Rotterdam. Come play a round!

Red Dragon Social Club invites you to a relaxed Mahjong afternoon in Rotterdam, timed for Mid-Autumn Festival, where the focus is on playing together, learning by doing, and enjoying a slow Sunday with good company.

This is not a tournament and not a class. You can join whether you've never touched a Mahjong tile or you already know your way around the table. Games are casual, tables rotate naturally, and guidance is available throughout the afternoon.

This time around we're adding a round of mahjong bingo for a bit of extra chaos, plus a mooncake tasting and a Mid-Autumn special drink to sip while you play.

Come alone or with friends, grab a coffee or tea, and settle into a social rhythm of play, conversation, and curiosity. Stay for an hour or stay all afternoon, both are welcome.

Ticket includes

  • Entry from 11:30–15:30
  • Two drink tokens (coffee, tea, soft drinks or beer = 1 token / wine = 2 tokens)
  • Mooncake tasting
  • Mahjong bingo with prizes

    • Extra drinks and snacks can be purchased at the bar.

    Quick FAQ

    I'm a beginner. Will there be an instructor?

    Yes! We always have hosts on hand to guide new players that have a beginner ticket. If you're a beginner, we recommend arriving on time, as introductory instruction starts at the beginning of the session. If you arrive late, you may miss part of the walkthrough, though we'll always do our best to catch you up.

    Do I have to arrive on time?

    For free play sessions, you're welcome to drop in whenever works for you. However, if you're signed up for the beginner sessions, we strongly recommend arriving at the start. The introductory instructions begin at the opening of the session and won't be repeated in full. Latecomers may miss some of the basics.

    What style of mahjong will be played?

    We teach Hong Kong style mahjong, but you're absolutely free to play your own style or learn a new one! Past sessions have seen tables playing Riichi, Surinamese, Sichuan, Singaporean, and Taiwanese. It really depends on who shows up. We love the variety, but we can't guarantee which styles will be at any given session.

    What is the cancellation policy?

    Tickets are refundable up to 3 days before the event, so we have enough time to open your spot to someone on the waitlist. After that, tickets are non-refundable. If something comes up last minute, feel free to reach out via email or DM. We'll always do our best to help where we can.

    Can I bring my own mahjong set?

    You're welcome to bring your own set, though it's not necessary. We provide sets at all our events. If you do plan to bring one, please let us know in advance and we'll thank you with a free drink.
